The .epub format has been established by the International Digital Publishing Forum for the distribution of ebooks. While the software readers for epub ebooks currently lack many features, this format should result in the end of the era of so many proprietary ebook readers and formats.

The All Magic Reader will now publish ebooks in the .epub and .mobi formats, the latter for the ubiquitous Mobipocket reader.

The first magic ebook in .epub format is 'Billiard Ball Manipulation' by Harry Jansen, a detailed technical and theatrical treatise on ball manipulations.

The Mobipocket Reader supports most operating systems and device formats including the BlackBerry, Psion, Kindle, iLiad, Palm, J2ME, Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphones, Windows desktop, Symbian OS smartphones including models from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, BenQ-Siemens and Arima, as well as Franklin and Booken Cybook.
